Austin 4G service- rate it please

Sorry to start a thread city by city, but I'm trying to decide between Verizon and ATT in Austin TX. how's 4G here? and future?
I live near UT and work just south of the river near Congress. so I'm mostly near downtown and Ladybird Lake areas, Zilker Park, and Fiesta Gardens areas.

I thought it was interesting, for SXSW, Verizon came in and made big PR about temporarily 4G fortifying the airport and downtown areas where events were going on for all the 'visitors'. but what about us year rounders?

thanks and wow, big numbers. If 4g is not available how fast is Verizon on 3G? or 2G? I don't know the bands. I read it is much slower than ATT 3G. IS Verizon 4G all over Austin?
Only cell service I've had is ATT on the ipad 1 and 2. worked well in central Austin. I use Tmo on an older iPhone, no data plan.

at&t lte is super fast as you can see..this is in downtown austin.

hmm, just activated VRZ. I'm getting less than 1.0. VRZ 3g only.
wifi, says 1.8 dl.
only 2 bars VRZ, 3G. no LTE symbol. LTE is turned on.
it;s slow! I'm near 29th and Lamar, inside.
thrilling speeds. could it be the test meter. I dl'ed some free one on iTunes.
glad I bought the ATT 4G iPad too, will test that soon.
only wanted to open one iPad, but this is not worth it. I can return them.

Edit -well I just used speed net and I see 3 bars and LTE, dl is 15.0 And ul is 0.50.
And signal we dropping out some, ping was like 155.
??? Well not much better up Lamar at six street, zilker Park. All low readings, especially 3G was barely crawling I'm going to return it.
Maybe the AT&T one too. The ipad2 was greater than I already thought.
