New York, NY
I got my iPhone 4 on launch day most like everyone else. Waiting on a NYC city block with around 4,000 people was fun at most parts, especially at 2 in the morning, and the Apple employees always know how to make things more exciting....... But comparing that with the Australian Launch and what they got, I think we were cheated!:D

Which would you like best? Being at 5th Ave, the most known Apple Store, opens the down with the usual clapping from the employees leading buyers down the stairs..... or Sydney in line at Vodafone, 3, Optus, and Telstra with firework entrances, free iPhone 4 Gift Bags, an launch before & after-party, and Lady GaGa and Kelly Rowland?!

Just Compare the videos for your self:

My friend in Singapore told me their launch is crazy too... They have a midnight launch in "Marina Bay" and concert like atmosphere. They have VIP lounge, crazy lighting, podium, and stuff like that....

I laughed so hard, thanks for those videos!

You guys don't even think that's embarrassing, right?

LOL

you should rennounce your citizenship and move on over there...nah just playing....some of these countries are getting the iPhone for the first time that explains all the pageantry

There is a reason why Australia is ranked one of the best places to live in the world. Don't forget, that with multiple carriers launching the iPhone 4 there was competition to attract your business, unlike the U.S.

they have been doing events like this in Europe and Oceania since the 3G launched. And for the 3G and 3GS, Australia was one of the first round launch countries, so this was going to happen with or without the iPhone 4 delays

I would still choose the us cause I can buy a video game with out half of it being removed and coasting 2x more

Tho it looked cool there.

Don't complain, the US launch was one hundred times better than the pitiful attempt of a launch here in New Zealand :(

That is only because there is a competition so each wireless company is trying its way to cheer up their customers. In the US, ATT "take it or leave it"
