Alright.

I recently purchased a Lexmark wireless printer.
Its connected to the downstairs Windows computer, so I print wirelessly from my Mac.

I ended up using the drivers disk that came with the printer and the install went off without a hitch.
It prints perfect.

But there is an issue.
About 2 minutes after installing the drivers.
I attempted to drag a folder into the Application folder.
It asked for authentication.
I noticed that that was weird.
I looked into it further, and discovered I cannot create a new folder directly in Applications, and any movement of folders or apps will result in an authentication window.

I can live with it, it is just a minor annoyance.
Im just wondering if anybody else had this problem?
Or solved this problem

First, try repairing permissions.

You are running as an administrator, correct? It certainly seems like it since this issue cropped up suddenly.
