Auto add lines to HOSTS

I need to add a couple lines to the HOSTS files on both Windows and OSX machines, and knew how to do that on Windows. But how would I go about creating the OSX equivalent of a .bat file to just double click, enter password, and have it add the lines to the hosts file, and backup the old one as hosts.original?
