Anybody else have this issue?

I held mine directly under a lamp and the brightness slider magically slid to the right, but when I turned the light off the slider didn't return to its original setting.

Edit: Oops, wait, it did gradually start sliding to the left. Slowly. Looks like it rapidly increases the brightness but gradually decreases it.

Turn the screen off, unlock it, and see if the brightness goes back down.

Usually auto-brightness only turns it up for me if it's bright... not back down if it's dark unless I turn off the screen and back on again.

I think it's an iOS thing. The same thing is happening with my iPad. :/

You're right! I thought I was going crazy!

My auto brightness does nothing. Taking it into pitch black, with brightness set to 40%, has no effect. Same for holding near a bright light source. I have left it in these conditions for several minutes and there is no change. Resetting the device does not fix it. I really hope this isn't a hardware issue.
