I have a local PC with a 3TB drive that I use for file storage. I want the MBP to automatically connect to this computer over wifi to access that storage drive.
I currently have an SMB setup on both computers to enable file sharing over wifi. On OS X, the connection reads: smb://[DESKTOPNAME]. The login is an email address/PW combination.
Here's the problem: OS X doesn't remember the login credentials correctly, and always inserts my first name in the user field. The credentials I have saved in the keychain are an email address/PW combination, so I have no idea why the user field populates with my first name by default.
This effectively prevents the drive from automatically mounting, so I have re-enter my credentials each time I restart/login.
I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Help?
EDIT:
After some tinkering, I discovered that Keychain only populates the text before the @. Is there any way to force keychain to populate the email address in its entirety?
