I have a Windows machine which is switched off at night and rebooted in the morning. I connect my Mac to the PC each morning (when I remember) through "Connect to Server".

This is a pain to do each time; is there not a way to auto-detect that the "Server" has reappeared and connect to it silently in the background?

Thanks :)

I don't know of a way to have it check automatically, but I have all my server connections setup in an Automator workflow (or you could use an Applescript) that I can invoke with a single click, or a couple keystrokes through Quicksilver. If you did something like that you could at least make it simpler.
