Say you're at school or work working on a spreadsheet from your flash drive (that also has a lot of sensitive and confidential information on it)... you lock your computer, and leave the flash drive inserted. Then you take a bathroom break, come back, notice that your flash drive is gone.
Now, imagine being the thief. You now have access to this random person's information, work stuff, photos, music, etc, because the drive is wide open. Pretend there was a way to prevent that...
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this because the implementation of it should be universal/across OSes, but... can this be a thing? Having a flash drive "lock" itself either immediately after being removed from a computer without being properly ejected/unmounted (abruptly ["rudely"] losing power or a data connection) or upon being properly ejected/unmounted (more particularly the former)... like would it have to be a software implementation on the flash drive? A firmware implementation on the flash drive? Either way, it should be a thing, lol, and if it is, please let me know.
