Auto-resolution management? Gaming on a rMBP

I've just got back from a lengthy vacation and am finally sitting down to stress test my rMBP -- "Excitement She Wrote!"

A curious thing seems to happen with every non-valve/blizzard game though. The games display at bonkers resolutions, which force me to manually switch to a non HiDPI setting.

Are there any other gamers on here experiencing the same issues? Do i need to fiddle with SwitchRes every time I want to play a new game?

Whats the problem here? Of course the games are gonna switch to a non hidpi mode resolution.

Oh of course, I meant that when I'm in HiDPi mode, I get a fraction of the game's screen. So when I launch, say The Witcher, I only see the bottom left corner of the game.
