Hello. Does anyone know how to cause an iPhone or iPod to autofill only entire albums from iTunes? (I have an iPhone 4.) I'll be as explicit as I can...

I understand already that I can connect my iPhone, select it in the iTunes nav pane, select the Music tab at the top of the main window, choose "sync music" then "selected playlists, artists, blah blah", the pick through the albums and decide what gets synced. But this is not the question. And besides which, the iPhone will still be getting random songs from the various checked albums until capacity is reached. What I'm talking about would probably be a higher-level or more behind-the-scenes option (I expected to find it in preferences - was surprised at the omission).

I would like to know how to command that the iPhone or other external take in only whole albums.

One example of how I picture this in action. I connect my iPhone and select the general "Music" folder in the nav pane (just below the iPhone icon itself, not the iTunes music library), I of course see whatever songs are on the device in the main window and the "Autofill From" and "Autofill" buttons on the bottom. I would select a playlist (I have a number of them set up by genre and other limiters) or the whole library in Autofill From, then click Autofill. iTunes would begin to push music to the iPhone, but it would push only entire randomly selected albums to the device.

Another example of how I'd like to see this work. I connect my iPhone and, like described earlier, go to the Music tab. I then take pains to select there whatever playlists or artists etc that I want iTunes to choose from when syncing. I would press the "Sync" button on the bottom right and iTunes would begin to push music to the iPhone. But, again, it would push only entire albums to the device. In this scenario I suppose the program would be choosing its albums at random from the playlists, and doing what it could to include the desired (checked) albums, or albums by desired artists, but only syncing so many albums as capacity will allow, by which I accept that some albums will be left out.

Thanks
