My UMBP just woke up from sleep and the menubar at the top was hidden! I put my mouse over the upper limit of the screen and it showed back up and functioned normally but when I moved my mouse it disappeared! Unfortunately, when I launched a program the menubar appeared and stayed on just like normal. Is there some hack to make it auto hide?

there is something called fullscreen mode that can make it hide. you can use it in most programs like Safari & Firefox. just look around in the application's view menu to see if it has it.
