Automatic app downloads not working

I have seen other posts about automatic app updates not working, but this is slightly different, so I am starting a new thread.

Automatic Downloads of newly purchased apps from iTunes do not automatically download on my iPhone (6 Plus running 10.0.1 GM).

This is what I did to try to reset Automatic Downloads to no avail:

1. Toggle OFF Automatic Downloads of Apps in iOS Settings.
2. Sign out of the iTunes & App Stores.
3. Reboot.
4. Sign back into the iTunes & App Stores.
5. Toggle ON Automatic Downloads of Apps in iOS Settings.

Automatic Downloads do, however, work in the opposite direction. That is, apps I purchase from my iPhone do automatically download in iTunes.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
