Currently my Mac refuses to automatically sleep after a set time. It will however manually sleep fine.
After trying various things, I have narrowed down the problem to my network connection.
If there is no network connection then automatic sleep will work ok.
Additionally I am connected to a university network via ethernet and use 802.1x authentication. When I am connected via 802.1x sleep does not work, when disconnected (but physically connected) the computer will sleep automatically.
I have installed Little Snitch and have noticed that nmbd and mDNSResponder are almost constantly active connecting to a new machine several times a second. Would this stop sleep from occurring?
I have also checked the console and there is a message which appears every few minutes, here is an example:-
Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this as I would like to have both an internet connection and a computer which sleeps by itself?
