I have been googling for a while and experimenting but not been able to find a solution that seems to work, I'm hoping someone has had a similar situation and may be able to throw some light on the best way to achieve this.

So, I have two user accounts on my Mac, one for myself and one for my gf. We have two separate iTunes accounts. These are both stored on a WD NAS and iTunes points to these no problem. This works great for music files. I also have a folder with movies and tv shows on the NAS. This is not in the iTunes movie folder. I did an 'alt' drag into my library and all the movies do not copy but play fine from the original location. This is what I wanted. I could do the same thing in my gf's library. However (and this is where it gets complicated) ideally I would like to create a folder action so if any new movies are added to the folder then they would be automatically added to both iTunes libraries but as aliases, as having two copies of every movie is not really an efficient use of space!

I've messed around with automator to try to create an alias in both 'automatically add to iTunes folder' whenever a new file is added to the movies folder but it doesn't seem to work. Well, it seemed to work ok on my account, but added a new copy everytime I opened iTunes! In my gf's account, it created a separate Not Added folder and all the aliases ended up there.

Does that make any sense?! Can anyone advise?
