Are folks in this forum inclined to allow Apple to receive this data, in the hope of improving the products, by checking this option in settings?

Or do you see this as the basis for marketing material or other dubious uses?

I never did with all my previous iPads, but started to with the rMini since it does crash occasionally. I don't think Apple uses this for marketing.

I always have this option turned off.

But I have read on other forums about people seeing high data usage at around midnight (even when the owner was in bed) and midnight is supposed to be the time that these diagnostic, usage data reports are sent. So it might be an idea if you have a small data allowance to think about having this option turned on.

I have it turned on. I really doubt that any data is being used dishonestly. Besides, Apple needs all the iOS 7 bug reports they can get! :p

I always have mine turned off. I'm just stingy with my CPU cycles I guess. :p
