Automatically switching on receiver

Hi there

So I got the new apple TV, I swapped it plug for plug with the old apple TV. The HDMI cable is plugged into DVD on the back so I changed it to DVD on the receiver, but it keeps automatically switching to TV/SAT and nothing comes up. The old one never had this problem so I have no idea what is going on.

Also if the new apple TV is plugged in and and I try to watch TV, it keeps switching it to SAT/TV on the receiver. Again this does not happen if the new apple tv is not plugged in.

Any ideas?

When it switches to SAT/TV, it also has no picture.

Do you have anything plugged into the receivers tv/sat input? An optical audio cable?

nay there isnt

You could try a power restart by holding the menu and home buttons down on the Apple TV remote until the light blinks on the Apple TV. Then turning the tv and receiver off and back on.
