Automating Keyboard Setting Changes

Hi! I'm a Pro Tools user, and that application works better when the F keys are used as regular function keys; however, the rest of the time, I'd rather they stay on the default settings. Is there an Automator workflow or AppleScript that I could use to change the keys to regular function keys whenever I open Pro Tools, and then back to default whenever I close it? Thanks!
