I’ve been using HomeKit with Philips Hue lights for quite a while, letting the Hue app control everything, except that I would turn things on and off with Siri. Recently, I have added some additional non-Hue items (Lutron Caseta switches for regular lights) and so have moved control into HomeKit automations. I’m still pretty new at this.

I have had a problem with Hue motion sensor automations not running and have narrowed down the problem to them not running if a time span for the automation crosses midnight. Or, at least, so it seems. For example, I have an automation that turns on my closet light to 75% between sunset and 12:00 am. Another automation takes over from 12:00 am to dawn - 30 mins. The first one won’t run. The motion sensor shows as activated, yet nothing happens. However, if I change it to sunset to 11:59, then everything works. I’ve tried this from different sides (morning one using 11:59 - Sunrise), and anytime one of these crosses midnight, the automation fails. Has anyone else seen this time based issue when crossing midnight?
