Hi everyone -
I just installed a NAS (Synology DS211j) and I want to back up all of my images automatically after importing them via iPhoto (without all of the iPhoto extra data - just the jpegs). I've been playing around with folder actions, automator, and applescript trying to utilize the Auto Import folder within the iPhoto Package Contents.
From what I've read this is where images go first before going into the iPhoto directory structure and I was trying to attach a folder action/automator application to the folder such that every time any data is put in there it is copied to my NAS. The basic structure of the Automator application is simple and I've verified it using other folders that aren't within the iPhoto content structure and it works fine, however, when I try to attach it to the Auto Import folder it never works.
If I manually put an image in the Auto Import folder I can see that the workflow is spinning up and starting (finder grays out briefly) but the image isn't copied to my test folder. If I use the the same workflow on another folder it works ok.
Any ideas? Has Apple blocked folder actions within its applications' package contents?
