I need to get my Mac to automatically run a UNIX executable in Terminal every time I log on, in the background unseen if possible. I just want it to run the executable and then Quit Terminal and any other applications that may have needed to be opened during the process.

I've used Mac since 2006, but I've never really gotten to know Automator. If anyone can help me through the process I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a Mac Mini 2010 running OS 10.7.2 (OS X Lion with iCloud)

You can use the "Run Shell Script" function in Automator: you can find it in Automator's actions library.
