Automator / Applescript img resizing + merging

Hi there,

I am clear about how to use Automator to resize images, however I was wondering if there was someway to use Automator to join images together. I would like to be able to join 6 300 x 300 pixel images, for instance, together to make a 3 x 2 oblong image. Is this possible?
