I first posted this in the Mac Basics forum under Hardware by accident. My mistake....
I am trying to help out my Dad who has ~30 CDs that have 100's of BMP files on them from having a scan done of old slides. We need/want to convert them to JPEGs before importing into iPhoto and I thought it would be a perfect job for Automator. Have a workflow/Folder action to convert the files and then send them to iPhoto; he could literally just drag and drop the photos and be done.
However, My first attempt at Automator is not too great. I can't get the conversion to take place. Apparently there is a BUG in Snow Leopard that prevents this from working with BMPs. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to get around this, fix this, or do it in another way (preferably not opening all the photos in a program and then same them back out manually)
I did find this on the Apple Forums Here
Any help, suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you in advance...
Brad
