Automator Showing Package Contents

I am trying to create an automator workflow where Wiretap Studio records a lecture in a class on a schedule and then automatically uploads the file to our server. I can automate the recording with Wiretap and then have Wiretap launch a script to transfer the file. The issue is that Wiretap records to a library which is actually a package. I have tried everything I can think of for automator to open the package and access its contents, but even the Watch Me Do function stalls at right-clicking and "Show Package Contents." Any thoughts anyone?
