Autoname screenshots based on Application?

Is it possible to have screenshots automatically named based on the application that's captured, or at least the one that has focus?

I doubt it's supported in any user friendly way, so are there any hooks for it in Automator or AppleScript or anything that anyone knows of?

I can't imagine that being possible, as the screen capture process is ignorant of what apps are involved; only that a full or partial screen or specific window is being captured. It has no awareness of what the content is. It would be quite useful if that were possible, though.
