What does authorizing/de-authorizing computers actually do? Currently I do not automatically sync my iPhone with any computer, I just manually add the songs on my home PC, but I want to be able to add songs from both my work and home PCs, without actually erasing all content on my iPhone, is that possible?

You have to authorize iTunes accounts in order to put the application on your phone. For example, if I were to send you all my purchase apps, you would not be able to add them to your phone because my account isn't authorized on your computer.

And as for syncing with two computer, you won't be able to do that. Unfortunately.

I don´t want to add apps from more than one computer. Im just interested in the music. Also, Im not syncing, I always manually add. Can I do that in both computers?
