kind of wish macrumors had an autosave function for comments. I'm typing this on my phone. Before this though I was typing a reply to a post. I went to another app related to the comment I was making. Came back and my message was there for a second before the webpage reloaded and the comment was deleted. So I guess I figure it would be nice if the comments and posts would autosave to avoid issues like that. Like even now I'm going to press the post button because I don't want to lose what I'm typing here accidentally.

Edit/ update - I went back just now to the thread in question and my comment reloaded. So maybe the site already *has* the autosave feature. Unless it's browser based. Not sure. Either way, I got it back, so potentially "never mind" to this post but I'm not 100% sure.

the forum software does autosave drafts. You can manually manage this under the three dots on the right side of your post.

To me, the "Save draft" menu is often too fiddly to access, so I click the Preview button that's shown above it in the screenshot. Doing so always saves the current draft.

It's one click vs. three (meatball menu > floppy icon > Save draft), and the Preview button is larger than the meatball menu or the floppy icon.

Preview is also much simpler to use if you're in "raw" mode (the [] icon), in which the BB tags appear directly.
