I called 1-800-MY-APPLE to order an SE 2022 in starlight with 128GB. They said both the local stores were sold out and delivery was the only option. I found that strange. Any idea what's going on with SE 2022 supply?

They asked why I'm picking this phone and I told them all the others cause eyestrain and headaches for me.

Where are you? Nine of eleven Boston Mass USA stores have that model in stock for pickup today.

Did you try to check in store availability via the app or website?

A quick search shows it’s available for pickup at Apple Roseville store.

I didn’t check because I had to order via phone as I wanted to use my Apple account balance to pay (not enabled in wallet). However, when placing the order they first said it’s available in Sacramento and then retracted and said delivery is the only option. So I wonder if the website is accurate.

Call the store when they open to verify stock.

I don’t see why the website would not be accurate for this particular model?

I don’t know why phone sales would refuse it then. Weird. Anyway it’s ok since I’ve already ordered it for delivery and I know I can’t buy from the store directly because of the way I want to pay.

I just mentioned it here because of what the phone sales person told me and I found it weird that it’s completely sold out.

So turns out they ordered the wrong phone -- 64GB. I noticed that only today when looking at the receipt again for the second time. So I cancelled the order and called in to place a new one for 128GB. Same thing again today -- they asked if I wanted to pick up locally, I said yes, but as they went to place the order, the rep said delivery is the only option (no option for in-store pick up). When I asked the rep why they backtracked, they said they don't know why the system is not allowing it. In addition, the delivery date is far off -- Nov 8 - 12. No idea what's going on.

Online, it looks like the phone should be available at the Roseville store. :(

Another weird thing is that the "Bill To" address is showing the address of the Roseville store instead of my home address. The delivery address correctly shows my home address. When I pointed this out to the rep, she said the "Bill To" address is the address that the device ships from!! This makes absolutely no sense, but I wouldn't even know who to follow up with.

Something is really out of whack at Apple. Maybe that is why Warren Buffett has sold 2/3 of Berkshire's Apple stock, haha.
