Availability to purchase Ultra 3 on launch day?

I have a preorder that is scheduled to be picked up in Utah on 9/20 as I am on vacation in Oregon until then.

I was thinking of trying to land one at the store the day of so I can save myself sales tax. Does anyone know if they have day of availability for the Ultras if I show up right at open? Or is it only pickups of preorders?

There will often be stock on launch day for walk-in but how many nobody will know.

Best to prepay the morning of to snag one. Otherwise it's waiting game at the front of the store which will be crazy busy as the iPhone 17 launch will dominate.

Not sure I understand how to prepay for one? Wife is now telling me she is wanting a new phone, so might be trying to get that as well....

You can go to the store and asking what is available - takes longer due to the separate line and what ever is not been pre-sold you can buy.

Or if you are picky about color or iPhone model then around midnight of that day, you can see what's available and purchase it on Apple's site, have it waiting for you in OR, and slip into the store quicker.

Those customers who bought online will have it pulled from walk-in inventory.

Best to order one online and set it to pick up in store. Since many items is being released on Friday, the last day to do it is today as the buy now pick up in store option will be removed by tomorrow (Based on last year's experience). This option might be removed right now as we speak.
