Hello all,

My wife and I are considering an iPad Mini or iPod touch for our daughter. It would be used mostly for games.

Does the iPod touch have the same amount of games available?

Which would you recommend and why?

Get an Ipad mini, Ipod touch will only last couple hours each charge.

Or better get her a 2ds and couple of good games. Way better in quality but depend on your preferences.

How old is your daughter? Lots of games out there but depends on her age really? What does she like? Puzzles, action etc?

The Ipod is disapointing for playing games, because its battery drains really fast. I would suggest an Ipad Mini instead.

IPad mini. Preferably a retina one so it is not immediately obsolete. They are more durable and if your child is prone to dropping her device there is more aftermarket case support for the mini.

The iPad mini 2s are still available and decent but they are slow on the current version of iOS.

As a Touch 4th gen user, i solved my battery duration with a little 10 euro 2600 mAh powerbank.

Its another object in the pocket (with 32-pin cable) but there are slim powerbanks and short lightning cables in the market.

And after all, i only need to charge the powerbank.

For me, i prefer the portability of iPod touch with the power of A8 SoC.
Unfortunately it costs 239 euros in my country...
