So I downloaded Panasonics AVC-Intra encoder since I fancy the Idea of archiving video in H.264 but like the idea of storing it in a 10-bit format with support for 4:2:2....if I ever have to come back to the content for input into a documentary, TV, new addition all hope is not lost when the chroma info and bit depth gets slammed...so I downloaded the plugin, I had the decoder for FCP X (although I have yet to edit AVC-Intra footage extensively) but I want to encode some of my stuff in AVC-Intra 100M so I can squeeze it on Blu-ray disks for archival...I usually use ProRes but obviously anything over 1080p and anything other than short clips won't fit on my 25GB discs or even a 50GB disc for that matter...
Anyways I've got it installed but it only has options for 1080i60 or 1080p30....no 24p, 25p, 50i, or 50p....am I missing something? I could have sworn AVC-Intra supported frame sizes up to 4K and frame rates other than 30p/60i....I have a 30minute 4096x2160p 4K video that is eating up 125GB's~ of space on a drive in the form of ProRes HQ....If I can't encode the AVC-Intra in 4K thats ok as the footage is a mix of 2.8K, 4K and 5K stills but I do want to encode in 10-bit 4:2:2 for sure....off the top of my head the only other option I could use with similar but not ideal results would be XDCAM HD422 but its 8-bit MPEG-2 50mbps which is nice but not as nice as 10-bit AVC 100mbps...
Anyways sorry for the long rant...I've included the AVC-Intra Encoder Plugin for compressor in case anyone wants to play with it or just wants to use it. Thanks..
