AVCHD import to FCX question

I am new to FCX and have a import question. I have a Sony SR12 and used Clip Wrap to convert the AVCHD video files on my Mac. Now I am ready to import them into FCX and wasn't sure if I should check the "Create Optimized Media" preference under importing for files to be converted to ProRes 422 or not.

Yes, you can check that.
Did you try to import the footage via FCP X from the camera directly already, without the need for ClipWrap?
