AVCHD Question!

How long does it take to render AVCHD?

I'm purchasing a HMC150, but wanted to get prepared for the time rendering, I only heard great things about this camera in my research.

You can see what computers I have in my signature down here.

Will it be a problem with a MBP or the imac I have?

By rendering do you mean "importing" into the editing software of your choice?
Or export, or effects rendering?

The time to import is up to the codec you choose to use for editing.

And your computers will be fine editing with HD material, also the MBP 13" screen might be a little bit smallish.

I have the MBP 13" to travel, so as soon as i shoot I'll save the the files on the MBP or external hard drive I'll have with me.

Do I have enough specs to import AVCHD files to MBP, while I'm on a trip? I know the screen is small, but is mainly to save files while I'm away, but I can start editing while on the plane, but finish when I get to the iMac.

The MBP will do fine for importing and even editing in some way.

I once edited for a week on a 12" iBook, it was no party, but manageable.
