AVG Hookup Question

I have the new alum macbook and I need to get the proper adapter for avg(projector). What is this part called? I bought the mini-DVI to AVG adapter and its not right. The plug is too big. It looks more like the USB plug on a printer for instance.

The new aluminum Macbook uses a mini displayport adapter. The mini dvi one you bought is for a different, older model.

Yes, for example this one lets you plug it into anything with a VGA input:

There is also one that lets you plug into a DVI input and another one that works with a dual DVI. Those are the only ones I'm aware of.
