Hello:

I thought the Digital audio forum might be the place for this post, but after reading some of the posts there, this seems like the most appropriate forum since it deals with QuickTime (Pro) and VLC.

I recently got an AVI file with H.264 video encoding and "msgq" (per QuickTime)/"vo3+" (per VLC) audio encoding. With Perian, I am able to view the video fine, but the audio is a no-go.

There seems to be nothing out there for OS X (I'm on 10.4.11) that will handle this Vorbis audio format. I tried the XiphQT component, but although it allows me to play OGG audio files in iTunes, it has no effect as far as the msgq/vo3+ encoded audio in either QuickTime or VLC.

I may be late to the party with this query but I thought I'd ask since I didn't know. Am I dead in the water with this file?

TIA for any assistance.
