AVI movie and .str subtitles: How do I make it a video disk?

I have an .avi movie (it is XVID format) and its subtitles stored in an .srt file. I view the file with Cellulo with its subtitles.

But now, I want to burn the movie into a video disk (Video CD, Super Video CD, DVD Video, whichever of these would be enough for me). What applications must I use to do that?

I have Toast 7, but I don't know how to include subtitles into my video disk

NOTE: I want the video to be burned WITH the subtitles.
