AVI Player & Subtitles Help

I'm watching a Danish crime series and for one of the episodes the subtitles are massively out of sync by around 101 seconds (they cut out the intro).
I've been using VLC to watch them so far but found out VLC freezes if you set the negative value for the subtitles sync too high.
Is there any other free player I could use that would work with syncing the subtitles in this way?

You can directly edit the subtitle file and add the 101 seconds to the time stamps in it that vlc uses to display it for you. Now that seems like lot of work to go through so search online for correct subtitle file.
 
I thought about doing that but like you said that would take quite a long time and be very tedious. I've tried looking but so far I've had no luck.
