Avi to Mov/DivX

Does anyone know how a good app fo converting avi to mov or div x, i have tried toast and vlc but to no success.

Im not sure if the question you have is valid since divx/xvid can be avi too, after all, avi is only a container.

FFmpegx is a versatile transcoding app, and its free. google it yourself.

why do you need to convert it? can you play it fine in quicktime?

i suggest using perian with quicktime to play the avi
