I want to put the music from an avi movie on to my ipod and I've got no idea on how to go about it. Can someone offer some advice? Can I convert it in itunes or DivX or something?

There are TWO ways that I do it.

#1. Open in GarageBand, remove the video track, and export to iTunes. You may need to convert the videos in order for GarageBand to read it.

#2. Open in Quicktime Pro, Save the Audio. Add to iTunes, and Convert to AAC, or Mp3 if you like.

thanks for the tips, guys. OK next question I now have my mp3 file, is there any way I can now split it down into individual tracks/songs. It is a live music recording.

Cheers.

Try Audacity import the large file then select the section(s) to be exported to mp3.

Edit: Just scrolled down the page apparently you could have used the beta version to get the audio from the video file as well.

many professional shareware on e-marketing can extract audio from video and trim every para you want, just google and try for the best fit you
