Avid Acquires Pinnacle System

Avid is to acquire Pinnacle Systems (who mainly makes non-Mac products) to provide immediate presence in consumer video and expand professional broadcast offerings.

They also own M-Audio.

I have used Pinnacle Applications before and before that Dazzle - they were OK - but quite unstable. This is a good buy by Avid as it gives them top to bottom in the video space - trying to keep pace and offer the PC alternative to the Apple side
