Hi,

I am going to buy a 13" Macbook Pro mainly to run 'Avid Pro Tools 9'.
I am upgrading the HD to SSD and 8GB of RAM.

Should I get the 2.3GHZ or the 2.7GHZ version? or would the difference be barely noticable?

I would rather not have to pay the extra $300 if possible but if it would make the application run better then I will.

If anyone has any experience with this application or advice it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

It won't make your applications run much faster at all, you'll hardly notice it. That said, you get to look down your nose at i5 owners if you own the i7, and $300 is a small price to pay for smugness.

You should be fine with either. I was fine with a Core 2 Duo. You will likely hit the memory limit in Pro Tools before you hit the processor limit.

Notice that Pro Tools 9 is not compatible with OS X 10.7 yet.
