I'm in need of a device that'll keep my 2010 MBP's temperature down
when I do projects that take over my cpu.
I wish for something that is both effective and stylish

The AVIIQ Laptop Stand claims to reduce temperature,
which in turn helps prolong the life of the battery.
Is this feature really true?
And even if it was true,
is the temperature cooled significantly
or barely noticeable?

If the AVIIQ Laptop Stand does not truely "cool" the MBP,
I feel that a laptop cooler is a more effective purchase.
The Zalman laptop coolers seem appealing (but bulky-ish)

My main usage of the laptop is at home
but I do frequently go portable
(ie: coffee house, labs, class, ect.)

Please advise which is the best choice to choose.
Thanks for all your help.

I have a similar stand, the xtand pro. It does keep my macbook a little bit cooler, but it is primarily a stand. There is more airflow underneath it, thereby passively making for a cooler laptop. Whereas the zalman nc1000 I used with my old dell was a true laptop cooler. It had a fan and actively cooled the laptop. It made a tremendous difference on my dell.

Try doing your intensive work with a makeshift stand in which your mbp is elevated with airflow underneath it. If that alone is enough for you, go with the stand.
