If I leave behind my old Apple ID and create a new one, will I have to enable two-factor authentication?

My current ID is from 2010 and I have so far managed to avoid TFA. I looked into it once, and saw that a lot of people had concerns about getting locked out, if you're not careful with keeping track of your device/backup password. In any case, I am pretty okay with the current setup of sending a text to my phone for verification purposes.

Is there some way to avoid enrolling for TFA if I shift to a new Apple ID?

Are there any other issues I could face in the future, such as not being able to show Apple the history of my past purchases?

I'd appreciate if you share your experiences with TFA etc.

Thanks!

Why create a new ID? All your purchases: Apps, iTunes music etc, on your Mac and any iOS devices are all associated with your current ID. If you create a new ID they won't be available to that. If you then purchase new stuff, it will just create confusion as to what is associated with which ID.

Have a read of this:

Two-factor authentication (TFA or 2FA) is not required to create a new Apple ID. I created a new Apple ID on a Mac equipped with a T2 Security Chip a couple of weeks ago without 2FA.

Today 2FA is required for certain features that Apple offers. Apple has changed these over time and I can't keep track of them but I believe Apple Card is now one of them.

If I recall correctly, I have one Apple ID account that requires 2FA but I can fulfill the requirement on the same equipment, like responding to an e-mail sent to a different e-mail service provider.
