Since I don't use notification but only for fitness and sleep
I would like to know how long AW 6 would it last without BT connection active

I did have a AW 3 and once a week I connect the with at phone via BT after I set in airplane mode

I’d be interested to know how long it would last with just a sync once every few days. Maybe improve the battery life between charges 🤔.

with my old 3, I did buy when it was released I made about 5 days as far as I can remember, but I guess 6 and SE has improved battery and lower power component

I assume you wouldn’t be using cellular? Because if you untether your watch from your phone and it switches to cellular, you‘ll be lucky to last one full day.

No cellular, got SE just did 3 charge and I’m not impressed with duration.
I made at most 2 days, hope is going to increase.

Cool. I was watching a YouTube video by Desfit where he found the SE had better battery life than the Series 6 out of the box. Only when he turned off blood oxygen testing did the Series 6 get better battery life. My experience has been similar.

I have an LTE AW6 and ... I get worse life when not connected to my phone - not a lot worse but noticeably worse.

Back when I had an AW5 - non-LTE, I didn't really see much of a savings non-bluetooth. I think it was constantly looking for wifi and bluetooth.

Having taken long long flights (for work) - with airplane mod on, I haven't seen much of a savings doing this vs normal operation.

I hate that sensor lol. I know I have to stay 100% still whenever it turns on ... so I feel obligated to hold still completely when it turns on. Interesting, I might experiment with turning it off. Thanks for the info.

That’s the good thing about the 6 - you have a choice of the extra features or extra battery life. When we do the same activities my AW6 (40) has the same battery life as my wife’s Garmin Vivoactive 3. Without activities she gets about five days. With four hours of activity she gets two days which I get with my AW6. (Without SPO2 and AOD turned on)

I tried something this week with my AW6;

ALL notifications off, synching allowed, only raise to wake on, no AoD, no exercises tracked...

from off the charger to 10% power reserve was 50hrs.

Is the SE using AW5 components? I noticed a drop in battery life from AW4 to AW5. AW6 seems to be better and back to expectations.

Well, Apple lists the SE as having the S5 chip which was only offered with the Series 5. But I’m not aware of any significant difference to the S4 from the Series 4.

When I went from the Series 4 to 5 I didn’t see any change in battery life when both watches were on the same watchOS. However, I did see a reduction in battery life when going from watchOS 6 to 7. In fact, I went back to a Series 4 thinking that was my problem. But it was the same battery life as my 5. So I returned to my 5.

Yeah could be. TBF, it was a seat of the pants observation, nothing I measured. I will say the AW6 is pretty good all around.

I have to agree, my AW6 seems better than my AW5. However, my AW3... I remember that thing doing 2 days with no sweat...

I just turned off automatic blood oxygen - we'll see how much more that gives me on my AW6. But I ended the day with my AW6 at >50% even with a 30 min - 1 hour exercise (AirPods streaming music on cellular).

I'm running my test in airplane mode, disabled background updates
Not sure but it seems to me that what it drains my battery is when I do indoor walking pad and when I go outdoors for walking ( fast )
I have the automatic exercise ON, not sure if I can turn it off and if it make any change
I 'm also not sure if it has GPS and may cause battery drain

Definitely noticing a noticeable increase in battery life turning off automatic oxygen sensor. Definitely hitting AW3 levels.
