Has anyone experienced this? My AW Ultra is charging pretty quickly when my iPhone is next to it (like 50% in 30 minutes). However, when it‘s not close by, charging speed drops dramatically (like 20% in 30 minutes).

I‘m not sure yet whether this is a feature (optimized AI based charging) or a bug…

Is it possible that it’s using more power due to cellular rather than charging slower? Perhaps try putting it on airplane mode and see if the charging speed increases

This is an issue with the ultra. I have 2 watches, and when I switch them and put my ultra on the charger, it takes hours to charge. If my ultra is connected to my phone on the charger, charges within an hour.

I found this thread because I swear my AW 7 is charging very slowly but you may be right, it’s only slow when the phone isn’t near it. Tonight I put it on charge for a while and then came to bed with my phone. Look at the very right and the change in battery percentage. It was slow and then leapt up at the end when I was near it.

This has only been an issue in the latest watchOS. I do not have cellular. Both watch and phone should be on my home wifi.
