AW no longer unlocking from phone

After updating to the latest iOS and WatchOS my AW does not unlock via phone. When I go into the Watch settings > Passcode everything is grayed out. It’s stuck with the wheel in the top right. After a min a pop up will say “could not connect with AW”

the workaround ive found is to turn off/on Bluetooth on iPhone. I have never had this issue. Not sure if this is an iPhone Bluetooth bug or not. Also, second bug is that AW weather has stopped updating.

I thought by the time of the 14.x/7.x OS they’d be more stable.

This sounds similar to https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ssage-since-upgrading-to-watchos-7-4.2294335/ (newer post) but it seems paired devices are having issues in a few cases, though the symptoms vary. May be unrelated
