I thought the first gen Ultra has the ability to drop to 1hz during always on display? If so, why does the new Flux watch face not show the movement of seconds during AOD like the AW10?

Is it the same for the AW2?

Apple mentioned that the AW10 can show the second hand movement and seconds change in AOD mode due to the 1hz ability but from what I can see, the Ultra has that ability to drop to 1hz?

Have you got an official source for this? thanks

An official source that states that this is the reason? No. I'm just speculating that the change to LTPO3 brings greater energy efficiency and so perhaps that's why it's only S10.

EDIT, buried beneath a stack of ads:

The new LTPO3 display is also much more power-efficient, so instead of updating in standby every minute, it does it every second. This means that one new Watch face, an attractive analog face called Reflections, has a second hand that keeps ticking by even when your Watch is by your side.
