Hi All,

I really want to like this watch and get it but, there are a few points that irks me and i have to ponder a bit longer on it before making a purchase decision. Not sure what your little irks are for this very pretty new watch.

Standalone improved capabilities:
Not a biggy for alot of you but i like to use my AW as a standalone device and even leave my iphone at home, i dont see any improved features for this, i wish apple showcased more features and options so you dont have to use your iphone anymore.

Offcourse via LTE! (Appstore directly available on the watch, being able to do the setup without a iphone, more robust options for calling and messaging) it all stands and falls with good 3th party support (whatsapp etc etc completely standalone, lots of the apps act as a gateway from your phone for notifications only)

Not everyone will agree with me on this one, i tried to use my AW for a year completely standalone and it was not great, the battery sucks dry when you do a few calls, i understand the regular AW is a compliment of your phone, but this Ultra should be more capable on it`s own, perhaps it is but not shown/released yet by apple.

Navigation:
No GPS Maps for hikers, instead we get breadcrumbs with a compass, a neat little feature for sure.
But for Hikers having a actual navigation by map on your watch is so much more suitable, especially given the SOS system it has now.

it kinda is like a handheld GPS Unit alternative minus the big miss of not having a native solution for GPS Maps/trails. Not a issue for lots of people but for someone who loves to hike a detailed trail map is so much better, to know the gradients, geolocations etc.

Repairs: 450 dollar for some a issue but with this type of device i would recommend apple care+

The screen:
obvious is designed with the Ultra 2/3 in mind to give those a smaller bezel, you already know by now that the Ultra 2/3 will have a X% smaller bezel and the 3 again as well, they leave a margin on at purpose for future upgrades. As otherwise why would the current bezel be that thick.. That just irks me to see, you know you get more with the UL2 in terms of screen realestate right of the bat (internal hardware upgrades i dont take into consideration as that is hard to predict)
