Need to get a new AW as my current watch battery is KO'd.

Looking at the new specs of the AW11 - is it really just the battery life which is the material difference? Marginal better screen... hypertension is just software. What about the Sleep Score - I imagine that also to be software.

With this in mind, does the AW11 really make sense or just get the AW10 refurbished and save $100?

Sleep score is gonna be available to all AW running watchOS 26. I doubt hypertension is just software

According to the Apple website, those of us with AW10 also get Hypertension notifications. Yay!

That’s all and the third point is pure marketing, so this is the worst new Series ever. At least Series 8 (the worst until now) had car crash detection…

My AW6 battery is knackered too. I will be going for a refurbished series 9 - it seems like the it offers most of the features I care about. I'm not really fussed about the 45 mm case vs the latest 46 mm version, I don't use a cellular model so wouldn't benefit from 5G and don't mind the slightly slower charging. The extra 33% battery life would be nice, but I don't think it's going to offer any meaningful improvement (it's not like it will get 2 days of use and if I charge for 30 mins each morning whilst showering I can easily get through the day).

For me, I'm getting the AW11. The hypertension support doesn't go back to my current AW8. Just got done ordering it. $529+tax+apple care+

I'll transfer my cellular service to it from my AW8. At least until I find out whether it can last 24 hours on a battery, I'll keep my 8 so I can sleep with one and wear one during the day.

My AW8 is now down to 80% battery health, so not eligible for battery replacement yet. When it gets down to 79%, I'll have it serviced then drop AC+ on it. I did that with my iPhone 12 Pro, once it got replaced I cancelled it.

5G and 33% longer battery is way, way better than the practically nonexistent difference between S7 and S8

Yes, but that's not the question - if coming from the S8, why not just get the S10. Save $100 and I don't even opt for the cellular version

I upgraded from the S5 to S7 for the bigger screen. Then upgraded to the S8 for the crash detection. Now thinking of going to the S11 just for the new health feature.

Battery life is nice but doesn’t matter as much to me since I put my phone and watch on a charging stand when I go to bed. My S8 battery health is at 82% and still lasts me all day. Sometimes even into the next day if I fall asleep on the couch and forget to take it off.
