Does anyone know if the GPS will translate to the golf apps? Actually be stand alone and not need your phone near by to get yardage?

I can only assume. I use Golfshot GPS every round but always use my iPhone. I'm not getting the AW2 but would be nice for it to be a standalone and be able to leave the phone in the cart/bag if needed.

Does Golfshot use cellular data?

If so, you'd still need the phone nearby, because the AW2 doesn't have a cellular radio.

No it does not. No cellular data, no WiFi, no Bluetooth necessary. Purely GPS. So the Apple Watch Series 2 should not need the phone at all to work with GolfShot. I might get one now!

What AW app was it that was briefly mentioned during the announcement yesterday that analyzes your golf swing?

Anyone get their watch yet and confirm that GPS is stand alone and does not need the iPhone close by?
