So I finally went for a run with my watch and it performed flawlessly. The only issue I had was not with the watch, but my brain haha

Usually when I run, I sprint then walk for a bit before repeating the process. What my new watch provided me is the freedom of having to hold my phone/tucked in my pocket when sprinting, but I guess I never realized how much I used the phone when I walked. After my first sprint, I started digging in my pockets looking for my phone, but realized it wasn't there. Haha I'm usually reading news as I walk for the 2 minutes or so...

Maybe I should start running harder with shorter walking distances. Maybe...

Anyways, total first world problem, but regardless it's nice being lighter on my feet and not have a iPhone 7+ slapping in my pocket.

Now if we could only get podcasts on the apple watch somehow...

End rant

You’re on the right track! Now that the phone is gone (yay!) put all of your focus towards breathing and recovering during your walk breaks and then start very slowly reducing the lengths of your walk breaks until you at least get them down to one minute. Then work on increasing the length of your run time until you eventually get to 10 minutes of running with one minute of walking.

I’m nobody special...but I started running several years ago this way and I’m now an ultramarathoner. No kidding, going out and running 40 miles in a day is no longer a big deal!

Stoked to read your story and congrats on the new Watch!

Wow thanks for the response! I will definitely take your advice to heart. Hopefully I can start running longer distances soon!!
